"In the paradise of spicy food - the first Sofia Chilli Fest challenges us with hot flavors and experiences" from lifestyle.bg
If you like spicy food, you probably know who Alexander Kyurkiev is.
Also known as Sando (or Sando Max among friends), he is the man behind Chilli Hills.
However, before starting the spicy brand with his partner Boryana, Sando was on the crest of the wave of skateboarding culture and traveled constantly. But in the end, his passion for spicy food and cooking prevailed and grew into a successful business. So for 10 years now, Chilli Hills has been producing spicy products and continuing to develop the spicy culture in Bulgaria.

Sando has had an interest in delicious, quality food since childhood. His first memories are of how there was always something spicy on the table at home. Over the years, he has also become a skilled chef, although he is professionally involved in everything related to the world of skateboarding.
Work takes him away from home and Sando lives abroad for many years. But while traveling, he gets to know different cultures, as well as their culinary traditions and tastes. And of course, his favorites are those that necessarily involve spicy food.
When he returns to our country, he has one condition - to live outside the city. He decides to buy a big house with land and starts doing a little farming. Of course, chili peppers are at the top of the list.
And the work and effort pay off with a rich harvest and, somehow naturally, at some point Chilli Hills is born.
Although niche, the spicy brand is gaining popularity, never ceasing to surprise and attract the interest of hot food lovers with a variety of all kinds of products - sauces, hot pastes, salsas, also jams and tahini, even honey mixed with smoked hot peppers, as well as hot brandy and hot beer.
To establish it, Sando puts in a lot of work and dedication. It is because of them that he manages to overcome the many challenges facing the long-term and difficult development of a niche product. Today, Chilli Hills has a company store - in Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna and Burgas, and since October last year the farm has already expanded to a larger area in the village of Dolni Lozen.

From the distance of time, Sando says that the business has certainly undergone changes, but the core philosophy and principles have been preserved. "We still create an original product, 100% pure, produced in Bulgaria from locally grown raw materials. Of course, the scale of our operations is now larger, as is the team and the markets, but everything else is exactly the same as it was when we started 10 years ago."
