FROM SEED TO BOTTLE
We are Alex and Boryana and after many years spent traveling around the world, we decided to return back to Bulgaria and live in nature. We found our dream home in the village of Kokalyane, at the foot of Vitosha mountain, and this is where our love affair with farming and outdoor life began. We started growing fruits, vegetables and our greatest love – chili peppers! We called this love Chilli Hills.

And where we are now
Launching as a brand in 2014, our uniquely devoted approach to product quality and establishing new tastes saw Chilli Hills rapidly become a stamp of quality and the brand quickly established itself as a leader in the chilli product market in Bulgaria.
Today Chilli Hills has four standalone stores and is available in over 300 supermarkets, restaurants and delicatessens throughout Bulgaria and in twelve other countries worldwide.
The brand has won 3 golds at the Inter Food& Drink Expo, featured in Forbes, Economy and TED Talks, across national TV and radio, and can be bought directly globally via Amazon.
OUR PRODUCTS
100% natural
All Chilli Hills products are 100% natural, and are free from preservatives, thickeners and colourants. This season, the family farm has expanded operations and we are now also farming chilli peppers on a second site outside of Kokalyane.
Due to demand we have expanded our operations in 2017 and are now also farming chillies outside Kokalyane, in the verdant central plains of Bulgaria. Over 40 different types of chilli peppers from all over the world are now growing over a combined 20-hectare area.
The brand’s signature line ‘Balkan Hot Sauce’ includes what is officially the hottest craft chilli sauce in Bulgaria.

Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Burgas, Vilnius …
The products of our native boutique brand can be found throughout the national network of natural food stores, finer delicatessens, many contemporary restaurants, gourmet festivals, farmers markets, and exhibitions. The summer of 2017, the brand began marketing and distribution outside of Bulgaria.
In 2017, we opened our first company store in Sofia, which was also the first specialist store for spicy products in Bulgaria. In November 2020 we opened the first international franchise store in Vilnius, Lithuania.

THE LAB
Our laboratory is situated on the farm and functions as our base for product development and testing. Our state-of-the-art grow box system allows us to start the plants early with perfect control over temperature and humidity.

Chilli Hills began life in 2014, when a young family settled down in the Vitosha Mountains of Bulgaria after travelling the world to devote their time to their passion: chillies.
