They are called Bird's Eye Chili because of their small round shape and because they were spread by birds, despite the heat of the peppers. They are usually red when ripe, but can also be yellow, purple, or black. This is a perennial variety, and if the soil doesn't freeze hard in your area, you will most likely be able to grow them year-round.
