The First Chilli Festival in Bulgaria – watch it on ‘Brazdi,’ Saturday, October 19th at 12:30 PM on BNT 1. The world champion in eating hot peppers faced off against the title contender. And this happened here in our country – at the chilli pepper farm of Chilli Hills in the village of Lozen.
Brazdi is heading to the village of Lozen and the chilli pepper farm of Chilli Hills, where the chilli festival will take place.
There, we will meet the participants of Sofia Chilli Fest, who will tell us how spiciness is measured. We’ll also meet Kerri from Scotland, who came specially for the chilli festival. She will present a special selection of hot sauces. Učindol Chillies will share with us how eating chilli peppers can help prevent viruses and why they grow hot peppers. We will also talk about fermentation and lacto-fermentation. Tony from SoFerments, who has made an interesting collaboration with Chilli Hills, will tell us more about this. At the chilli festival, we will also learn the secret behind a good pepper spread (lyutenitsa). After that, we will meet Maris Vizjak, who organizes hot festivals in Slovenia. He will explain why the more we eat spicy food, the more addicted we become. What’s the secret of spiciness, and what’s the connection with chocolate…
Sando from Chilli Hills will tell us about the hottest pepper in the world, as well as what to expect at the hot festival at the chilli pepper farm, where the world finals of the League of Fire’s spicy eating contest will take place.
Finally, we will meet the spicy eating champion Mike Jack from Canada and the contender for the world title, his opponent – Giancarlo from Italy.
Special attention will be given to the UKchilliqueen – Shahina Waseem.
She holds the first place with 97 spicy eating wins and aims to set a new record by winning 100 chilli eating competitions without a single loss.
