Bulgarian carrot is the only one Bulgarian chili pepper known outside the country. This is a breed with a rich history. The name comes for obvious reasons – the origin is Bulgaria and looks like a carrot (size and shape).
In Bulgaria is known as Rumanka and it is taken across the Iron Curtain during the Cold War in the 80’s. What differentiates it from all the peppers breaded in Bulgaria is that it has unchanging genes – color, size and most importantly heat level.
